Our Mentorship Programme.

The original Peotona mentorship programme forms the bedrock of the Foundation’s Mentorship programme. Every one of our selected members is fully committed to the evolving Foundation mentorship journey.

The Mentorship model is a unique approach which encourages mutual respect, clear expectations, personal connections, shared values, and effective actions which bolster the Mentee’s personal and career development.

The aim is to encourage the whole-person development of each Mentee, in order for them to thrive professionally, personally and impact their community.

How it works

  • A mentor is matched to a mentee by the Founders for a year-long mentorship journey.
  • Mentorship is a developmental relationship between the two individuals.

HOW ARE MENTORS SELECTED?

  • Selected by the Founders; our Mentors are initially appointed from within the pool of the Founders’ original Mentees, or are nominated by the Mentors and then selected by the Founders.

HOW ARE MENTEES SELECTED?

  • The Mentees are nominated by either the Founders or the Mentors and are then selected by the Founders.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AS A MENTEE.

  • Holistic guidance, sound advice, support and feedback from an experienced mentor whom the Founders have matched with you.
  • A trusting and respectful relationship which values questioning and provides assurance and a safe space.
  • Knowing and understanding your boundaries and how to set those boundaries to achieve your personal and career goals.
  • How to navigate relationships: work, social and familial.
  • To develop a strong sense of self-awareness which builds your soul versus your ego reaction.
  • To own your personal growth plan and its implementation.
  • To continue to lift as you rise.

WHAT IS REQUIRED OF EACH MENTEE?

  • A fee of R12 000 ex VAT for the one year Mentorship programme.
  • A commitment to attend 8 mentorship sessions (with at least 2 in person) and 2 Network sessions.

Do you want to know where I found my inspiration? In a tree; the tree supports the large branches, these the smaller branches and the twigs support the leaves. And every single part grows harmonious, magnificent.
